CORRECTION!

In this week’s edition of The Dispatch, an error occurred that needs correction.

In our front page story on the upcoming municipal elections, we incorrectly stated that all five incumbent aldermen for the Town of New Augusta are seeking re-election. We incorrectly named Janet Gallaspy as an incumbent who had qualified to seek re-election. David Gallaspy is a current member of the board and is not seeking re-election. Janet Gallaspy is not a current member of the board, but is one of six challengers running for office.

So to clarify, incumbent New Augusta Mayor Steve Spicer is unopposed in his bid for re-election. Four incumbent aldermen – Tammy Bolton, Pamela Brewer, Corey Proctor and Wayne Murphy will be on the June 3 ballot, along with Janet Gallaspy, Curtis Gates, Robin Hulsey, Kade Lewis, Belinda Tatum Perryman and Scott Phillips.

We apologize for the error and any confusion it may have caused.
