The Richton Rebels are third-round bound after earning two straight wins over the McEvans Warriors in Round 2. After traveling four hours on Thursday to earn a 21-5 victory in the series opener, the Rebels hosted the Warriors on Friday and made quick work of it, scoring 15 runs through three innings to win 15-1 by run rule after four innings of play.

The Rebels’ bats were hot from the start, as they scored six runs in the bottom of the first to take a commanding 6-1 lead. They continued pouring it on in the second, piling up eight more runs, followed by one final run during the team’s third and final at-bat.
Ty Richard and Braden Meadows led the team with two hits apiece, combining for three runs and two RBIs. Four Rebels – Garrett Brewer, Devin Miller, Owen Carter and Thomas Walley – contributed multiple RBIs in an offensive explosion for the home team.
Brannon Riley was the winning pitcher, tossing four strikeouts and allowing only one hit through three innings on the mound. Brewer came in for the close in the fourth, setting the first three batters down in order and striking out one to end the contest.
Richton’s Round-3 opponent will be determined this weekend based on the seeding of the winners in the remaining Round-2 matchups.
