NOTICE TO BIDDERS
SIXTEENTH SECTION LAND HUNTING & FISHING LEASE
Notice is hereby given by the Board of Education of Perry County School District that sealed bids will be received by said Board until 4:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 7, 2023 in the Office of the Superintendent at 100-B 8th Avenue, New Augusta, MS (Perry County), for a lease of hunting and fishing rights on the following described Sixteenth Section Public School Trust Lands situated in Perry County, MS to wit:
Section 16, Township 1 South, Range 11 West
Perry County, Mississippi, containing 640 acres, More or Less, Running West of Highway 29, Off Forest Service Road 340
MINIMUM BID ACCEPTED:
$5,120.00
The lease shall be for a term of three (3) years. Said lease shall be for purposes only as classified and shall be in compliance with existing statues governing Sixteenth Section lands.
Bid proposal forms may be obtained from the Office of Superintendent of Education. Bids shall be submitted for the entire parcel. Only the annual rental shall be subject to bid and a certified cashier’s check for the amount of annual rent should be included with the bid when submitted in sealed envelopes, addressed to the Board of Education of Perry County School District and plainly marked on the outside of the envelope “BID FOR HUNTING AND FISHING LEASE” on approximately 640 acres in Section 16 Township 1S 11W.
The Board of Education of Perry County School District will meet in Board Conference Room, 100-B 8th Avenue, New Augusta, MS on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at 6:00 P.M.; at which time bids for leasing of the aforementioned property shall be awarded to the highest and best bidder with certified check, provided, however that the Perry County Board of Education reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids submitted and to waive any informalities.
The aforesaid land is being offered for lease under the provision of Section 29-3-41 of the MS Code Annotated (1972) as amended, published by order of the Board of Education of Perry County School District.
